Why Live? Sharing Time

Why go on living? This question can be answered with one word. Sharing.

You see, when a person is born, time is created. That’s right; time is created.

Think about the story of a 17 year old football star who volunteers his time helping a handicapped kid.

The time the young man gives to the kid is cherished; yes, cherished by that handicapped boy. Everyday the young man is to arrive, the child begins smiling, gets happy and nothing, not even his physical conditions can get him down.

If the young man had given up at age 13 when his classmates were bullying him; if the young man’s mother had given up on her pregnancy 17 years earlier, then the time spent with that handicapped boy never would have been.

So you see, time is created at birth. Simply not wasting it; not throwing it away when it can be shared with others is a very good reason to go on living.

The time created when you were born is extremely valuable. Don’t waste it. Don’t throw it away. Find a way to share it. Then, as the young football star discovered, you will get more out of the deal than you could ever imagine.

Death in the Family: Thoughts

Losing someone is very difficult. On December 22, I lost my Dad.

And now I find myself thinking of him often, only recalling his youthfulness, not his elderness.

I remember how strong he was; how confident and I compare the way I think of him to the person I am.

Then, as I think, I begin to do math in my head. “I remember when my dad was my age, and he lived 27 more years, so do I also only have 27 years left?” This is disturbing thought.

I want to live my best life, and if I spend it recklessly, I might be very disappointed at my end.

What’s the point of this? I suppose I want you to know it is okay to ponder your death. What will it mean to those around you? What does it mean to be dead? If you are on your death bed, what thoughts might you experience.

Your life is valuable. Don’t end it before you reach your potential. There is no such thing as a lost cause; you are a diamond that needs to shine.

Inner Strength will get You Through Tough Times

I broke my leg last Sunday. Right after it happened I called out to my wife who was in the house wrapping Christmas presents. She didn’t hear me.

So, there I was on my hands and knees in the yard, and I wasn’t sure if I could stand yet. I knew I couldn’t stay there for ever, so I drew on my inner strength and stood.

I hobbled up my porch steps even though my leg was bursting with blinding pain.

The way I dealt with this is the same way you can deal with your problems.

You can’t wallow in the grip of negativity, so pull yourself together. Draw on your inner strength and realize you are truly a great person.

With your inner strength, you can get through your problems, and someday you’ll look back and see they made you stronger.

Your Smile can light up the world

Even when life is raining on you; Even if you are cold; You can always look for a brighter side.

I, for instance, am sick. I have an illness that robs my body of protein. This has caused all kinds of depressing setbacks for me. including blindness and unemployment.

I do feel angry at times. I do feel sad and depressed sometimes. Yet, I know that life isn’t over… it’s just different.

Even with these emotions, I remember everything I’m grateful for… the more important things.

I’m grateful for my family. I’m happy I’m still here and that I do have good days, and I cherish the opportunities I get to spend time with my nieces and nephews.

You’ve got acknowledge your own special things that make life worth living and hang on tightly to them.
